After numerous emails requesting a break down of my deposit repayment, i received a payment of R3,414.84. I asked for a break down of how they came about the amount they paid out as The damage deposit on the property was 5700, there was also a utility deposit of 1000, along with that the rental deposit which on the last statement I received has accrued an interest of 1112.13. This comes to a total of 7812.13. the only damage reported was a broken hinge which would make the repair costs 4397.29. After questioning this i received this email: Afternoon, Thank you for your mail. Your total deposit including interest = R6820.03 was reconciled as follow: (Deposit R5700,00 - Utility Deposit R1000,00) * Out Maintenance - R410,00 * Estimate Final & Out Utilities - R2550,19 * Out Inspection Fee - R350,00 * Deposit Management Fee - R95,00 Total Deductions = R3405,19 Amount refunded to you = R3414,84

Note they havent taken the accrued interest into account. After questioning the * Estimate Final & Out Utilities - R2550,19

I received this email.

Madam,

Your payment = R2669,83 was for your utility usage 29.7.18 till 31.8.18.

The estimate amount that was deducted was for your final account 31.8.18 till 30.9.18 = R2550,19.
