WARNING! Jobleads - Careful of "small print" in subscription

South Africa being in the situation it is lots of people are hunting for job opportunities and I was no different. During January this year I decided to sign-up with Jobleads.co.za which seemed like a very professional agency. Connecting to the website is a very professional experience and it is obviously designed to make you feel like these people know what they are doing. I ended up signing up for six months at a discounted rate of R540. This decision I made and am still comfortable with it. However during the six months I might have app**** to a few opportunities they advertised, however with no success. Still no reason to bad mouth them. I took a chance it was not successful. I did manage to get an opportunity using the normal channels though.

Now six months later, R 1999.00 rand is deducted from my account by Jobleads.co.za for the next six months. I immediately queried this on a mail to them and insisted it being reversed as I will not be making use of the service for the next six months. I am informed that I was aware of this when I signed up and I missed the opportunity to cancel 42 days in advance. Not that professional in my view anymore.

Jobleads is willing to loose me as a customer for a once off R 1999.00. I have not even made use of any service yet, this is for the next six months. They are sticking to the very sneaky contracting terms. In my view a professional entity will negotiate this with a customer and meet in the middle, yet their attitude is to stick with the sneaky terms.

I am very interested in how many of their customers are caught with this 42 day cancellation term and the auto-renewal.

I have learned that they are a German based company and I have requested them to share the email address of their CEO for me to raise my complaint with him/her directly. I'll let you know if that happens.

I know I am partially to blame for not reading the terms and conditions properly and legally they are not wrong, but what happened to us that companies are willing to take your money without you needing or using the service. This is a manipulation of the law into your favor to legally ***** from people.

BRAVO Jobleads - you legally stole R 1999 from me!!

I will be reporting Job Leads to the National Consumer Commission of South Africa as well as not recommend them to anyone.
