Vehicle Damage and Poor Service – Jetour Midrand

On 19 March 2026, I brought my vehicle in for a scheduled service and arrived at the workshop at approximately 08:06. I was concerned to note that no vehicle inspection was conducted upon arrival to document the condition of my car. While waiting in the customer area, I overheard another customer raising a complaint that her vehicle had been scratched during a prior service visit. This immediately raised concerns about the handling of vehicles at the workshop. At around 15:00, I was notified that my vehicle was ready for collection. I arrived at approximately 15:30, and as I was about to leave, I noticed scratches on the bonnet of my vehicle. I am certain that my vehicle did not have these scratches prior to being handed over for servicing. I reported the matter to Palesa, who arranged for me to return on 25 March to review the CCTV footage with Arnold De Bruto, the Service Manager. However, during this viewing, the footage was played at 16x speed, making it impossible to clearly identify what occurred or who may have caused the damage. I subsequently requested a copy of the CCTV footage on a USB device. I was assured that this would be provided by 27 March 2026. To date, I have not received the footage despite several follow-ups. The delay in providing the footage is highly concerning and raises serious questions about transparency. It is difficult not to suspect that there may be attempts to withhold or alter evidence, particularly given that transferring footage to a USB should not take an extended period. I am extremely disappointed with this experience, especially considering that I purchased my vehicle from your dealership and expected a far higher standard of care and professionalism. I hereby request that the immediate provision of the full, unedited CCTV footage from the date of service and remedial action to repair the scratches at no cost to me.
