Unable to close this account

I have tried on numerous occasions to close this account from calling the call centre many times, going to the store to close etc but no luck.

Every time they give me a "settlement" amount to pay, which I do and ask them to close and months later its still open with a small balance and each time out of frustration I just pay the amount so they can close it...

This account is now in arrears due to a "club" fee being charged, which I cancelled over 2 years ago. I now have a "bad credit rating" due to these idiots...

On last occasion I spoke to someone from RCS (debt collection) who promised to follow up and close this account. She sent me an email and CC'd the relevant departments, however to this day no one has rep**** or acknowledged receipt... this was over a month ago....
