Secondhand cellphone wrapped as new.

I purchased two Redmi A5 cellphone at Jet Stores Pan African Mall. The phones were wrapped as new but the other one had call logs of incoming and out going call dating 8 December 2025,meanwhile the phone was bought on the 25th December 2025. Upon the realization the store was alerted and told the phone will be brought back to the store on the 26th..When the phone arrived a store assistant manager said there's nothing they can do as the phones in that store no longer had the 7 days guarantee. To add salt to the wound customer service agent said she cannot assist me as long as I'm remote from the store.

How do you use a devices that could that can just die on you or awaiting to be returned to the manufacturer to fix??

I only wanted to upgrade the phones since I am dissatisfied and deem them secondhand.
