prescriped debt now appearing on my credit report

had an clothing account at jet store when I was still a student opened in 2005 or 2006 then in 2008 I lost my job and stopped paying the account and I have never heard anything from them in the last 5 years however out of the blue the account and the amount outstanding started appearing on my credit report which I do not understand because after three years the debt was supposed to have expired and not appear anywhere on my credit record,,i have gone to jet to check but I don't get assistance can you please assist me to get jet remove my name from credit bureau and update accordingly as this debt has prescribed long time ago and the last time they even updated on credit bereu was in 2010 about 10 years ago this situation is making my life a living hell as I cant apply for anymore credit because of prescribed debt my name is Tryphina mthombeni jet account number *** my id number I *** contact is *** your assistance will be highly appreciated regards Tryphina
