Jet stores at Church Street PMB -"Yoliswa and friends Inc".

Hi I am appalled by the service I received at one of the Jet stores in Pietermaritzburg. I visited the branch in Church Street PMB yesterday the 27.03.2019 and picked up a few items that I wanted to lay-bye for the coming winter season. At the till I was assisted by Yoliswa who asked me for my ID book. I responded to say I don't have it with me and she continued demanding that it is requirement. I asked her what will she do with it and she responded that she needs to scan it for the lay-bye transaction. I responded and informed her that I was at the Jet stores in Midlands Mall PMB and was able to present my drivers licence as a form of identification and the cashier was able to assist me with the lay-bye. She was adamant that the physical ID book is required and that "each house has it's own rules". Meaning that the rules of conduct from one Jet store to the next is different and they do not follow the same rules as Jet stores at the Midlands Mall.

I stood aside while my friend went to collect his ID book in the car and while standing, I was told that I will not be assisted at 17:30. The time was 17:25. My friend walked in the store with the ID book at 17:27 and I waited again for Yoliswa to assist me as she was away from her till. The cashier that was working next to her till called Yoliswa to come assist but she ignored her. Eventually a coloured lady opened up a till and I approached and informed her that I wanted to lay-bye the item I had in my hand. This lady advised that the system is closed for lay-byes and they could not help me. I left the branch without any assistance and feeling disappointed and horrified with the service I received. I am not sure whether these employees know anything about customer service. Turning away a customer is turning away business for the owner and this will have a ripple effect as an unhappy customer will tell their friends, family, colleagues, etc. The sad part is they are not considerate and act as if this is their own house. Well Yoliswa and your coloured colleague, Jet stores at Church Street is not "Yoliswa and friends Inc", its a Franchise and someone's business. Please consider the bigger picture as I am sure I am not the 1st customer to be told that system won't take lay-byes at certain times of the day and that an ID book is required to be scanned at Jet stores.

I trust this will assist in correcting the behaviour staff and ensure that they offer the best service so we (customers) can keep coming back.

Kind regards
