Jet - costing me money
Following the advice of the MANY emails and SMSes received from Jet during the beginning of the national lockdown, I paid my account online during that time. Months later, I received an SMS to say I am in arrears, despite paying a little extra each month. I went to my nearest store, paid the outstanding amount and enquired why my account was behind. Not one of my online payments was reflecting. I emailed my bank statements reflecting the payments. I received very confusing emails from multiple people. Some said the matter had been resolved, some said they had not received the documents at all, some said more information was required. iIn a nutshell- After multiple, very LONG phone calls and trips to the store, what they now want is detailed payment information - the account number, references used etc. I am furious, as I don't understand why I am running around for this information when it is the very information supp**** by Jet and it clearly shows on my statements that the payments went to "Jet stores Edcon". This after having an excellent record and despite the Covid19 pandemic. And now they have informed me that as of today, all Jet cardholders will be charged R30 every month just for having an account with them. I think plenty of people, like me, will be closing their accounts with Jet very soon. I suppose I will have to drive to the store again and be promised a call back that will never happen and jump through their many hoops - all for a measly amount less than R500.
