Jet clothing exchange

Hi, Someone gifted my baby a grower but it doesn't fit as my baby is a little bigger built, the lady at the till refused for me to exchange it for the correct size, even though it had a tag, stickers etc. Some people don't give slips because they buy thier own personal items at the same time,how do I go and ask people for slips at my baby shower, seriously???
