Jet Clothing Cape Gate Shopping Centre - Unable to transact during load shedding

I was at Jet Clothing in Cape Gate Shopping Centre this evening (19 October 2022). After being in the shop for more than 30 mins and taking clothes to purchase on my account, I was told only when I got the till, that there is currently load shedding and due to this, they can only accept cash.

This was at about 19h30 - the shop closes at 8pm.

For the most part, I was the only shopper in the store and at no point while I was taking clothes off the rails, did anyone approach me to say that it's cash only.

1) Why was I not informed when I entered the store that it's cash only?

2) Who walks around with cash these days - the amount of items I had selected was easily over R1000

3) Why is a company like Jet not able to perform online transactions during load shedding? Load shedding is now the norm in SA.

Clearly you are not interested in growing your business.
