Horrible experience at Jet

I can’t stress enough how absolutely awful my experience with Jet in Pietermaritzburg, Church Street has been. The staff at this store are nothing short of deceptive. They approached me, convinced me to open an account, and then claimed it was “compulsory” to take an item with the account. Reluctantly, I agreed to take an item worth R170, paid half immediately, and the remainder the following month. That was the last I took from them.

However, just a month later, my nightmare started. They kept harassing me with calls, demanding that I pay R280, insisting it was for “funeral cover” and “magazines” – neither of which I ever signed up for or even knew about! They did all of this without my consent. I was never told about these so-called “add-ons,” and yet they found a way to charge me for something I didn’t ask for.

I closed the account and asked them to clear it, only to be told that everything was “settled,” which clearly was a lie. My name is now tarnished, and I can’t do anything about it. I’ve tried calling Jet a hundred times, and not once has anyone bothered to answer.

Jet in Church Street, Pietermaritzburg, is a terrible store that preys on unsuspecting customers. I regret ever walking in there. They’ll sign you up for things you don’t want, ignore your concerns, and leave you in a mess. Do yourself a favor and avoid them at all costs!
