DO NOT BUY INSURANCE THROUGH JET RETAIL STORES

My mother passed away on the 4 August 2021 and she was a Jet club member for years, a funeral plan underwritten by Hollard was included in the club benefits. She was paying R35 per month by dt order from her bank account. I submitted a Jet Club funeral claim at the Garden Route Mall, branch in George on 15 August 2021. The staff was very helpful and assist me promptly with the claim. My nightmare started when I receive a text message form Hollard on 23 August 2021 stating that the claim has been approved and that I can collect the benefit from the branch. At the branch I was told that nothing shows on their system. The branch staff assist me in making telephone calls to resolve this. I don't know how many lines I have been transferred to until I reached a line where it was clear to me that the fault does not lie at Hollard but at Jet Retail self. I was then told that Jet must update their system and its two weeks now that I have been trying to get the funeral policy that was approved by Hollard to be paid out. On Monday 30 August 2021 my blood was boiling and rightly so as I made it clear that the funeral was due on 30 August 2021 and this morning, I received a call from an Elmo that he will look into the matter, this was followed up with text messages from him that he was waiting for an update from their head office, and then that the delay is caused by an IT problem due to the claim number and that he is putting pressure on I do not know whom. I must be honest that the store staff do their outmost to assist me in this. It is a pity we cannot rate -10. The below needs to get addressed as soon as possible, its unacceptable on all levels. I am not interested in responses of “Hi there, thank you for reaching out to us. We appreciate you taking time out to let us know your thoughts. We will be in touch to assist you as soon as possible. Thanks, Jet Online team” I demand senior management intervene soonest. I need this to be resolved ASAP or my lawyers will get involved at your cost.
