Defective school shoes

Schools just opened, but my child's school shoes are already coming apart, exactly 2 weeks. We have thrown away the slip but fortunately the transaction was via swiping 💳 so it will appear on the transaction history. My wife says I should just buy new ones elsewhere, because they will deny everything... Basically another R400.00
