Bought phone within a month and its broken

I would like to report Jet Mart store Moloto in Mpumalanga. My mom Winnie Plaatjies bought her phone Samsung Tab last month. At first it was in good condition but when time went by it couldn't charge and eventually made the screen look like it had Ink. She then took it in to the store and they told her she broke the phone. The phone never fell and the screen was never broken but they said it fell. They decided this themselves and didn't even have it checked by a technician or something. I Nelly my mothers daughter called the store to speak to the Manager ''William'' who said he will investigate and hand the phone in for repairs but didn't. When my mom went to the store she was told she has to take it back or if it goes for repairs she will have to pay for it. Please can someone assist on this regard as it is an inconvenience and the phone is only a month old.
