Bad service from collections department and customer service

Good day

I called customer service (spoke to Jason) on the 28th February and requested for my account to be transferred over to 12 months and I was told that it would take 24hrs for the transferred to be done. On the 2nd March I called again I can’t remember the name but was told that the plan change was done and that I should pay my full instalment that is R1200 which I couldn’t afford but still made a payment of R650, keeping in mind I will make up for the arrear amount at the end of March.

On the 6th of March I received a call from the collections department telling me that my account is in arrears and that I should pay my full total due including the arrear of R1500 at the end of March. I called again afterwards to inform the consultant that I did make an arrangement for my account to be transferred and according to me it was granted but in the mean time she can make a note that R750 will definitely be paid at the end of the month (which she didn’t make note of). The girl on the other side started to get aggressive with me telling me that it takes 5 working days for the transfer to be process and the more I’m telling her that I was told to me that it’s not 24hrs but 5 working days, I decided to end the call by putting it down in her face.

I called again and a request was put trough for customer service to contact me.

On the 8th a received a call from customer service I think I spoke to Naomi she said that she’s busy putting my request through for the plan change and that it will take 48hrs for the transfer to be done and my instalment would be R500.

Yesterday the 9th I received a call at 17:19 I couldn’t get the name cause I was on my way home. The girl then told me that there was something wrong with the system and my transfer couldn’t go through but she did request for the plan change again and will check today if it was done, I still asked her to let me know if it was done.

Today 10th March 2017 I received a call again from the collections department telling me my account is in arrears and that R1500 is due on my account, for some reason the line went dead and I called back and spoke to Mamsie.

I told her my story and I still said that she must put in the arrangement of R650 to avoid calls and until the plan change is granted. She gave me a number for customer services which wasn’t reachable.

I called again after that to ask the agent to inform customer service to contact me. I explain my story to him and then he told me that the plan change won’t be done unless the arrears is settled on my account. I told him that it is impossible that it could be true cause the time that I called my account was up to date and I still paid R650 to show that I still want to pay my account but can’t afford the instalment for now.

I told him that I’m also working for a company where a do plan changes on accounts and we even help the customers who are in arrears and is willing to pay their account.

I’m actually disgusted by the treatment of the collections department and they make you feel like you did something so bad and even telling you, that there’s no way you can call customer service cause your account is in arrears .

Where I’m working customer service is available for you whether your account is in arrears or not.

I dont want another call from your collections department who dont know what they are talking about cuase everyone have a diffrent story. I want my account to be transfered over to 12th months or else I will take this matter further.

I will be closing my account once the balance has been settled.
