Rental disaster from Jawitz properties

My most worse experience renting from them. Still waiting on my one month's rental refund. Were told they waiting on the owner to pay the money back to them. Why is that my problem. I paid Jawitz and not the owner (that is their client). They were in breach of the contract. I sent numerous emails to the Director and the agent, still waiting. The agent will reply after a few days. It's not my problem to contact the owner on this, and the owner has no right to keep my money. Jawitz is waiting on a reply from the owner. Why not take action against the owner to repay my rental money. It's their client. I paid my rental 6months in advance to Jawitz Properties. I moved out because they were in breach of their contract. The owner did renovations with my deposit money when I moved out without my consent.
