I feel Jawitz Properties were not honest with me.

In March 2023 I was shown a sectional title unit in Dowerglen, Edenvale. The agent gave me a brochure that said the property is pet-friendly and the levy is R2 691. As a layperson I depended on the agent to be honest and truthful. I was only given a copy of the complex rules long after I signed the deal. Only then did I learn the unit is NOT pet friendly. I also learned the levy is over R600 more than the brochure stated, because there is a reserve fund levy that the agent did not disclose. I asked for another viewing. My request was declined. I asked to cancel the deal. The agent said (in writing) I the deal cannot be cancelled. When I told the agent the rules said the upstairs unit is NOT pet friendly for dogs, the agent’s reply was, “birds are pets too.” Now I have to sell the unit and buy another one. This means I will have to pay commission on sale plus transfer costs on purchase. I feel I have been deliberately misled and the agent only cared about commission and was not concerned about the harm she has caused me.
