Deposit not in investment account

Jawitz Southern Suburbs refused to clarify whether my deposit was treated in a way that was legally compliant. I eventually came to find out through my former house mate, who was still in communication with the agent, that there was in fact no statement to show that my deposit was in an interest bearing account. After inquiring for almost a month I was met with a rude response that said I had no right to the statement as my lease had already ended - further entrenching my suspicion that my deposit was in fact not put in an interest account, leading me to suspect that the R12 000 cancellation fee I was charged with was an effort to lead me astray. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM AS 2 OF THE PEOPLE I WAS IN COMMUNICATION WITH WERE UNRESPONSIVE AND TREATED ME AS THOUGH I WAS IN THE WRONG. Further assisting the landlord in her ********** ways
