🚨 Three Turbo Failures in Less Than 30,000 km – Land Rover Calls This ‘Normal Wear and Tear’? 🚨
I have been a loyal Land Rover customer for over 15 years, but my experience with Land Rover South Africa has been deeply disappointing.
My Range Rover Evoque has suffered three turbo failures within just 29,707 km—a part that should typically last 250,000 km.
Failure Timeline: 🔹 November 2022 (13,273 km): First turbo replaced. 🔹 April 2024 (22,692 km): Second turbo replaced. 🔹 March 2025 (29,707 km): Turbo fails AGAIN!
Land Rover South Africa’s response? They claim this is not a manufacturing defect, nor poor workmanship but simply wear and tear. This is completely unacceptable from a premium brand—three turbo failures in under 30,000 km is NOT normal!
Case Reference Number: ***
Land Rover South Africa’s Poor Response: 📌 Took nearly two weeks to acknowledge the issue, despite promising daily updates. 📌 Provided no explanation for why this has happened three times. 📌 Agreed to cover 80% of the R62,238 repair cost, but expects me to pay R12,447.60 for a failure that should never have occurred. 📌 No courtesy vehicle has been offered, despite my car being out of commission for over two weeks.
Damaging Land Rover’s Reputation Land Rover markets itself as a premium, high-quality brand, but this level of reliability and after-sales service is disgraceful. A turbo should not fail every 10,000 km—this suggests poor quality control, misdiagnosis, or a fundamental issue with the part or installation.
What I Expect from Land Rover South Africa: ✅ Cover the full cost of the repair—this is NOT normal wear and tear. ✅ A proper investigation into why this keeps happening. ✅ A courtesy car until my vehicle is repaired.
Would I Recommend Land Rover? Absolutely not. If this is the kind of service and "quality" Land Rover offers, I would strongly advise potential buyers to think twice before investing in this brand.
📢 Land Rover South Africa, do better. Your loyal customers deserve reliability and proper support!
