shocking ripped of by dealership

Dear customer care , I need your urgent assistance. I've purchased a 2014 c220d Mercedes from Land Rover Menlyn Pretoria about a month ago. Car was advertised for 399 and finally paid 370k for the car cash.

A month into the car I now decided to reach out back to the dealer to resell / trade the car in for something better. Barney the sales manager told me markets and demand changes daily so he need to re-evaluate the car and load the car in order to offer me a price back for it .

I get a call back today saying they will offer me R240k . Dear customer care I've owned about 15 cars if not more I do understand the trade and retail of a car , I also understand as a dealership you need to make money . Cars similar to houses can not be out of equity in order to be financed hence why you show admin, smash n grab etc to justify either retail or over the retail price .

My very big concern is , how can land rover exploit its customers buy making 130k profit of a used car worth 240k .. there is no way a transunion book jumped 240 trade overnight or in a month at most maybe 10k ..

I am extremely guttered and concerned leave alone disgusted that a reputable dealer like yourself are not governed to make a certain amount of profit / % of each unit.

How would someone insure, or resell / trade in their car with a 130k loss in one month , this can only mean one thing , and that's exploiting and overcharging / ripping customers off. I had no trade in, there was no load and a straight cash deal.

As a dealer , you would of never paid more than trade if at worst case a little close to retail but that to is very slim.

This story reminds me of the looting and covid when dischem and shops where over charging its customers and I seriously want to take this further. I certainly do not believe dealership yourself gets challenged hence why the exploiting of honest working individuals continues to happen.
