Shocking customer service on deadly default... Car a moving coffin!!

I am a very unhappy Land Rover customer

Yesterday while I was driving the the front passenger door to my Range Rover Evoque flung open when I took a turn around the corner. No warning sign whatsoever to warn me of this deadly default. I am so disappointed! For a brand of this positioning and the price it comes at... how is it that a basic safety feature is not mitigated.

To compound to my frustration, upon calling the dealership to arrange for towing/transportation from Hatfield Pretoria to Menlyn Pretoria I was quoted R750!!!!!!!! Then a R4432.74 bill was imposed upon me to fix the door. A bill I could not even plan and arrange for as I was caught between a rock and a hard place... I leave the car at the dealership, safety is a concern since the door would not latch at all; if I opted to take the car home, how do I drive approximately 50km under those conditions on a day a storm was forecasted!!

This car is literally a moving coffin!!! I could have had my daughter sitting in that seat, my elderly mother, I myself as heavily pregnant as I am could have been sitting there, infact it could have been anyone whose life is just as valuable. Furthermore, the next car could have crashed into that door.... I AM GUTTED!!!

What irritates me is when I asked what caused the issue in the first place, I was simply told that they dont know as it is all electronic.... How is a door latching electronic??? How are you unable to explain a R4500 problem?? and you cannot even guarantee that this sort of thing will never occur again... Tell me how I am supposed to feel safe driving in this coffin with my family???

This car is under 5 years mind you, never been in an accident and has been well maintained over the years with the Menlyn dealership. To my surprise though I find myself at the dealership following up on queries more often than not... around July '17 the car went in for service, around October '17 the car gave a "Restricted performance warning" which was met by a R1200 bill to fix, a month later in November '17 I was back again with a broken door???? This car has proven not to be reliable and is only a matter of time before it puts my life (and loved ones) in danger. Furthermore, in October I was told I need to take it to the panel beaters to fix a problem with the boot opening half-way. I was told the problem occurred because I probably drive harshly over speed-humps, yet the car was sold to me as an off-road car with complementary tickets to go on the Land Rover off-road experience????? How then can it not handle city conditions??? Honestly Land Rover takes me for granted!

My challenges with the brand are paramount and it is now beyond what I can stomach... I intend to launch a media campaign to alert everyone of the potential danger and bad service customers are exposed to under the brand. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!
