Land Rover Sandton terrible customer service and support
I have an Evouque that’s only 2 years old, but it had to be taken in for a mechanical breakdown of some sorts. Land Rover hired me a courtesy car with SMH car hire. I was then told that the part needed to fix my car would be ordered from overseas and would take around 21 days to arrive, and I’d have the courtesy car till then. Last week, a day after I had filled up the courtesy car (R1500 full tank), Land Rover called to let me know my car is ready for collection and they would be cancelling the car hire. I did communicate that I had just filled up the car as I didn’t know my car would be ready. So if they need to cancel the car hire (that I had just filled up), I atleast need my car to be returned with a full tank as well or they should extend the car hire period till I’ve used up the gas in it. Suddenly I am told the car hire was on condition that I return it with a full tank - which is something that was NEVER communicated to me initially. Had it been communicated to me I would have budgeted accordingly. Now I only budgeted as per normal for my monthly fuel spend. But Land Rover Sandton does not care about the inconvenience and financial setback this implicates on me. It should not be my problem as a client that between Land Rover and SMH Cars, someone did not communicate accordingly. Yet I am the one who has to pay the price and be treated so inconsiderately. I have always appreciated the great service I received from the various Land Rover Sandton departments in these 2 years, but this is just unacceptable and is the worst type of customer service.
