Land Rover - How the mighty have fallen

I am no longer an avid Land Rover fan since they Lie on their advertising and their customer service is the worst.

I purchased a brand new Range Rover Sport SDV8 Autobiography in April 2016 based on the advertised information, reviews and test drive of a similar model vehicle only to find that one of the most important features on the vehicle did not work. This was voice command whereby i could use my cell phone hands free.

No problem say Land Rover SA - this function has been removed from all Range Rovers since the begining of 2014 up untill 6th July 2017 and they send me a letter stating that, but....

This feature was advertised by Land Rover SA as fitted, the vehicle build certificate that i obtained for my vehicle says its fitted and even their own people say its fitted.

So i contacted the Advertising Standards Authority of SA who issue a rulling against Land Rover SA for misleading advertising (2 ********** F). So what do Land Rover SA do?

Nothing. As i write this i see that they are still advertising 2016 models with this function fitted - so is it fitted or not? Dealing with Land Rover customer service is a joke!

Oh yes, my vehicle broke down 12 times on a 400 Km trip. A week after getting the vehicle back from the dealer, while coasting to a stop behind a stationary vehicle at a robot the car sudenly kicks down and surges foreward throwing me and my whole family back in our seats. Almost immediately the gearbox locks up, throwing us all violently foreward, accompinied by a loud bang from under the car, all before i could react and apply brakes. We just missed hitting the car in front and the vehicle behind had to swerve to avaoid a collision. We would all probably be dead if this had happend at speed.

So after harrasing Land Rover SA i finaly find out today that my vehicle with 28,000 Km on the clock now has to have a new gearbox fitted.

Land Rover = Zero Customer service and dangerous vehicles
