Land Rover Evoke
On 4 February my husband and I were travelling to Paul Pietersburg when my Evoque lost power. We called land rover assist and unfortunately we were in a bad area and did not have very good signal. We also spoke to Land rover Hillcrest and they told us that it sounded as if the turbo had gone. We then continued at 80km until we made it to Durban. My vehicle was then collected taken to Hillcrest Land rover.
The vehicle stayed there for over a week and we were told that the exhaust gasket had blown and it also had valve problems. I then got my car back on Friday the 13th February and my kids and I travelled up to Richards's bay to meet my husband. On Saturday night my car was back on the flat bed again as it did not want to start. We were assisted by Patrick McCarthy who was very helpful and lent us a vehicle to come home with. It was towed to Richie Auto in Empangeni. We were then informed that there was a problem with the smart key and that there has never been an error like this before. To date my vehicle is still there and nobody can tell me when I will be getting it back.
I have not been able to use my petrol card for the loan vehicle, which is an extra cost and inconvenience.
