INCORRECT QUOTE

I would like to report Jaguar Landrover Waterford for their slack half service. I phoned in 25th Nov 2024, at 9.17am on call number *** of which call lasted 8 minutes and 30 seconds. I spoke to the Service Manager and asked him 3 questions. The first one was that I needed to change the gearbox oil of our Land Rover, I was asked the year, model, then under this question I asked question two which was how many liters did the vehicle take as we had checked book which said 9 liters. The Manager which I seem to recall as Hein rep**** that we would be needing 7 liters of oil to which my final question was what was the cost of the oil per liter he rep**** it cost R300 per liter. This concludes the 3 questions I asked the service Manager.

I then called back and spoke to same person and asked that two of my doors were sticking, did he suggest that we change some mechanical part because my son in law had picked information from YOU TUBE. I was then told by him not to believe everything that was on YOU TUBE and that they would try to lubricate the doors and see if that would sort the issue. ALL GOOD THIS FAR. I am not going to explain the awful service on arrival at Waterford, and here I would like to explain what went down. I parked, walked in and was told to collect a file from a lady, which I did, I took the same file without looking at anything and was told to go across from her desk and give it to a gentleman at a computer. I think between him and us we exchanged 5 words in total. He asked me had I arranged a shuttle. This after I had explained nicely that we were travelling from very far so could the vehicle be done and released so that we did not have to spend the day at Waterford. Around 2 hours into this episode the chap that took my file came to me to inform me they did not have enough oil. So I then proceeded to the Service Managers office who knew nothing of the issue but went to find out and came back saying they were trying to access some oil from Bryanston branch. Then to the final part where I get given an Invoice that shows me that the vehicle actually took 4 liters of oil and not 7 this point has been explained to me in detail (torque) BUT EACH LITER OF OIL COST R1031.95 and then labor another R1350.00 NO LUBRICATION DONE AT ALL.

So my point here is if I was quoted at R300 why the change in price? So far the response I have been given and I am not accepting is that the car is out of warranty so the price of oil differs. The other reason is that the R300 was retail price. If it was retail price why was I quoted retail price?

The ironic story here is that we are told all calls are recorded but sadly Waterford claim they cannot trace the call. The reason they cannot trace the call is that they simply DO NOT WANT TO ADMIT THEY QUOTED THE INCORRECT PRICE AND I AM NOW DEMANDING THAT I GET REFUNDED AS THAT WAS NOT THE PRICE I WAS QUOTED.

The also now come with a story that the price was discussed on my arrival that is a LIE. They claim to try calling me yet if they have called they are coming in under SPAM which I do not answer to.

I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO WATERFORD.

Thank you so much for your response. We have done all of that been through Customer Relationship Centre and even emailed the UK branch top man and go no response.
Locally all I am told by Lesego is that the retail price of the oil was R300 for new models the older models the price becomes what we paid. This still does not sit well with me as the Service Manager asked me as a first question WHAT MODEL AND WHAT YEAR. So that excuse is NOT acceptable.
