DONOT BUY A LANDROVER
I Have a 2010 Landrover Discovery 4 and a 2019 Landrover All New Discovery. Both Purchased from Landrover Brand New. My Discovery 4 is off Plan and the New Discovery is still on Plan.
Last week Friday Afternoon 11/12/2020, I was held at Gun Point up whilst Driving the Discovery 4. The ******* took some of my belongings as well as the Vehicle Key. I got my Spare Key from Home, however the Key refused to work. I contacted the Jaguar Land Rover Call Centre for Assistance. They sent out a Technician at a Cost of R500.00. The Technician came through and could not sort the Key out. He advised me to get the Vehicle towed to a dealership and told me that he put the vehicle in Neutral . I organized the insurance company to send through a Towing Vehicle, who when arrived could not tow the Vehicle as the Vehicle was not in Neutral. I called Landrover again who sent out a new Technician, who literally pressed a small white Button to put it in Neutral at a Cost of R500. This couldve been explained to me telephonically yet they sent out a tech and made me pay. Anyways my Vehicle was towed to LandRover The Glen. Today Monday 14/12/2020, the Dealership contacted me and informed me that they are not sure why my Spare Key is not working and are unable to fix it. The only solution is to purchase and install a new Module with 2 Keys at a Cost of R17000.00. This is still something that I can accept, However the issue is that It will Take 3 to 4 weeks to receive the Module and Keys as it needs to be Imported from the UK. Land Rover does not have this resource locally. I further went to complain on Social Media, after which I was blocked from commenting on Land Rovers Posts. I called the Customer Relationship Number. I spoke to a Lady by the name of Unate, who kept on cutting my call saying that the line was bad. Eventually she informed me that she will contact me within 24 hours and then the call cut. I called Back and spoke to another Gentleman who informed me that there is no active Case logged.
The Biggest Issue I have is that at no time did Landrover mention to me as a customer that they do not have the resources available locally to sort out all emergency issues, especially iro the keys. I am scheduled to leave on Vacation with my Family in a few days and now we are a vehicle short.
My other fear is that my other Vehicle, the 2019 Landrover Discovery. If I get stuck with that vehicle or my keys get ****** while I am in Durban or Capetown, then I am liable to be stuck and without a vehicle for up to 4 weeks. Land Rover Vehicles are Top Class, that is why I have purchased 3 Landrovers over the past 10 years. However I did not expect that LandRover does not have the resources to sort out a Small Problem as the replacement of a Key. This is totally unacceptable and is liable to put alot of Drivers at Risk
