UIA BUSINESS SOLUTIONS SWORN AFFIDAVIT REQUIREMENTS

Although the frontline staff in the Call Centre are very helpfull and friendly, the Company Policies and Procedures defies logic. According to policy requirements, as telephonically conveyed, the only acceptable sworn affidavit to process a claim has to be made at a police station. Sworn affidavits made in front of an attorney at law or any other legal professional or Commissioner of Oaths is not acceptable. How is it possible that in the insurance industry there can be a stipulation that inferres that a sworn affidavit made at SAPS supercedes that of a sworn affidavit made at a practicing registered legal professional? The Legal and or Risk Assessment Teams of UIA should seriously review their policy claims requirements referencing documentation
