SHORTFALL POLICY A DAM WASTE OF TIME

THIS SHORT FALL POLICY IS A WASTE OF TIME HONESTLY.

MY CAR WAS WRITTEN OFF, FIRST THING IS IT TOOK FOREVER TO PAY OUT, SECONDLY PLEASE CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN THIS TO ME, I THINK I AM STUIPED.

THE CLAUSE IN MY POLICY IS THIS "WE DO NOT COVER AND THEREFORE DEDUCT THE FOLLOWING AMOUNTS FROM THE STATUTORY SETTLEMENT BALANCE. A) THE AMOUNT BY WHICH THE EXCESS PAYABLE BY YOU IN TERMS OF THE UNDERLYING POLICY EXCEEDS R20 000.00"

THIS IS THE RESPONSE I GOT BACK FROM THEM "With regards to section A of the shortfall policy, it refers to the excess cover limit. Meaning that, should the comprehensive insurance charge you excess the policy covers your excess charged up to R 20 000.00, as part of the shortfall calculation, and any amount above that is therefore deducted. Renansa charged you excess of R 9 410.00 which was covered by the excess cover limit of R 20 000.00. The amount is not payable to you. This does not make any sense to me. The insurance company did charge me excess – R9410.00 the amount was not above R20 000.00 which should have been paid back by your offices.

CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN THIS TO ME.

MY EXCESS WAS UNDER THE AMOUNT OF R20 000.00, SO THEREFORE THEY SHOULD COVER THIS AMOUNT. NO WHERE IN ANY CALCULATIONS IS THIS MENTIONED

SO PLEASE TELL ME WHERE THIS EXCESS AMOUNT WAS CALCULATED.
