Car taken for Welding without my Consent

On 19 July 2018 I purchase a brand new ISUZU KB 250 Hi-Rider Crew Cab at ISUZU & Honda Louis Trichardt, in Louis Trichardt.

This car came in with the extras which include Rollbar, toneur cover and towbar. I have used this vehicle for sometime now and I booked it for the 15000 km / 12 Months service interval at the same dealer (ISUZU & Honda Louis Trichardt) for the service as the car is still on the Service plan.

The car went in on service on 14 May 2019 and I drove the car to the dealer myself. Upon arriving at the dealer, I handed over the car to the person who was receiving the cars. I was the second person on the queue for the cars that came for the service. I then waited for the car as Louis Trichardt is almost 60KM away from my home around Thohoyandou. When I was there at the dealer waiting, I was hearing consultants and mechanics talking about a car that should be taken to the nearest welding place as something on that car needed to be welded.

Later on I say a vehicle similar to mine being driven out of the dealer. I say the vehicle looked similar to mine because the entire from bumper with Registration number and bonet and when the car has passed, I realised that that is my car because the registration number at the back was mine. I then asked where are they taking my car and one consultant informed me that there is a factory fault on the car and they have are sending it to the place where they will welder it to fix it. I asked why wasn’t I informed that the car I bought less than a year ago had a factory fault and why is it that they are taking it to be welded without my consent? The consultant said no, I should not worry about that.

I called the consultant who sold me the car to come and give an exploitation which he also couldn’t understand as to why be the people at service department doing things without first consulting with me. I told them that I am not going to take this car home as I was not told what the problem with my car is. This car went there to be serviced for 15000 KM / 12 Months interval and now that car has been welded for what I don’t know. I am not going to take that car home as that car apparently had a factory fault that was fixed by welding it. The dealer should take full responsibility for this and ensure that I don’t get that car that has been taken to a welding place without my consent. This is also putting my life and the lives of those i use this vehicle with and other road users as a risk beyond imaginable.
