Isuzu cannot fix problem on nearly new vehicle

I bought a new bakkie. It now has 27000km on. There is a electrical/electronic fault on the bakkie. The bakkie has been with dealer 2.5 weeks. Dealer and Isuzu cannot find problem. They do not revert with news and just ignore me. Worst after sales service I have ever had.

Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Isuzu Artic Vehicle – Ongoing Mechanical Defects and Unacceptable Customer Service

I will share a mail send to Isuzu South Africa, in which they ask me as the client, to specify how I would like them to asssit in resolving the matter. Video's and pictures were send to them with my initial mail explaining the issues we expirience with the brand new vehicle. To date only feedback was not to assist but to say it is send to this and that department to assist us. This is the worst service ever received and to say the least we are actually a Fleet client of Isuzu. See mail send to them: To: Head of Customer Care Isuzu South Africa Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Isuzu Artic Vehicle – Ongoing Mechanical Defects and Unacceptable Customer Service Dear Sir/Madam, Please find attached the videos and communication relating to our Isuzu Artic vehicle, which was purchased and delivered on 13 March 2026. Since taking delivery of the vehicle, we have repeatedly reported concerns regarding excessive smoke emitted by the engine. Initially, we were advised that the smoke was a result of the cold weather conditions in South Africa. Programming was done on the vehicle and still no satisfied results. We have now been informed that the actual cause appears to be faulty injectors. This inconsistent diagnosis raises serious concerns regarding the quality of the vehicle and the manner in which this matter has been handled. As of Friday, 17 July 2026, the vehicle was only four months old and had travelled approximately 8,000 km. Despite being virtually new, it has not been in a roadworthy or reliable operating condition. From the day of delivery, we have experienced nothing but ongoing problems with the vehicle, with no permanent solution being provided. We are extremely disappointed with the level of service received from Isuzu Head Office. Purchasing a vehicle in excess of R1 million should provide confidence, reliability and peace of mind. Instead, we have been left with continuous mechanical issues, poor communication, and a complete lack of effective customer support. This level of service is both unacceptable and highly unprofessional. We were informed that the vehicle would be collected on Friday and transported to the Isuzu factory in Port Elizabeth for further investigation. However, to date, even Isuzu Lichtenburg has not been informed of the intended course of action. This reflects a serious breakdown in communication within your organisation. Furthermore, your communication with us as the customer has been extremely poor. Updates have been infrequent, follow-up has been lacking, and we have continuously been left to seek information ourselves. Such customer service falls far below the standard one would reasonably expect from a manufacturer of Isuzu's reputation. Accordingly, I hereby place Isuzu on formal notice. As communicated to your representative at Isuzu Lichtenburg, should I not receive direct communication from the factory or senior management within 48 hours of this letter, outlining the corrective action and resolution of this matter, I will have no alternative but to escalate this issue publicly. This will include approaching various media outlets to make the public aware of our experience regarding the quality of your customer service, communication, and after-sales support. Take note we are a FLEET CLIENT OF ISUZU. I trust that Isuzu will treat this matter with the urgency and seriousness it deserves and that immediate action will be taken to restore our confidence in your brand.

Urgent: Safety Concern Regarding Delay on Pull-Away – Isuzu 1.9 XRider

Dear Hello Peter Team, I am writing to escalate a critical safety issue I am experiencing with my Isuzu 1.9 XRider. After discussing this problem extensively with Isuzu Woodmead, I was told that this long delay when pulling away from standstill is a "normal" characteristic. However, today, during my 30,000 km service, the dealership informed me that the newer generation of Isuzu 1.9s has a redesigned turbo and engine that completely avoids this issue. This delay is not just an inconvenience; it poses a life-and-death risk, especially when pulling out into traffic. My family depends on this vehicle, and I fear that one day, this delay could cause a serious accident. I ask that Isuzu South Africa urgently reviews this safety concern and takes appropriate action. I would greatly appreciate a prompt response and a resolution to this matter.

Worst Service From Isuzu Vryheid

Worst Service ever from the service advisor - Wandile. We took in our work Isuzu bukkie after it developed problems on our way to Vryheid from Johannesburg. Having purchased it from Isuzu Westvaal in Nelspruit and continue servicing it with Isuzu Westvaal, we gave the Service Advisor Thabo Hlophe a call to get assistance since the vehicle had come from being serviced two weeks before the issues were identified. He advised us to go to Isuzu Vryheid to which Wandile was the service advisor who assisted the team. She informed the team that they were fully booked on Wednesday and to come on Thursday for assistance. It was mentioned to Wandile that we are not from KZN and were in the area for work purposes further reiterated by Thabo, the Westvaal Service Advisor. She promised to assist us on Thursday and get the team back on the road. Alas on Thursday it was a different story, Wandile was not only unprofessional but rude in informing us that the vehicle had not been attended too and that the vehicle will only be checked the following week. To date l have not received feedback or any assistance. The vehicle is still with the dealer and as a customer left begging for assistance to which l still have to pay for. I surely think think this does not fit with the values of Isuzu.

Isuzu Cape Gate - brilliant service

10/10 for Isuzu Cape Gate. Absolutely superb level of service. I considered selling my Isuzu due to the very poor level of service I received from Isuzu N1 City and Isuzu Paarl, time and again they let me down. But Whow I'm so impressed with Isuzu Cape Gate, they kept me up to date, daily with what's going one. Keep it up

Steer clear from Isuzu

Title: Isuzu refusing to honour known MU-X alignment issue – unsafe and unfair treatment I am extremely disappointed in the way Isuzu South Africa has handled an issue on my Isuzu MU-X. At approximately 40,000 km, I reported abnormal tyre wear and suspected alignment issues. Since then, I have had wheel alignments done multiple times in an effort to resolve the problem. Despite this, the two front tyres wore out prematurely and unevenly on the edges, while the rear tyres are still in good condition. This type of wear is not normal and clearly points to an alignment or suspension-related defect. Isuzu is now refusing to assist, claiming that wheel alignment should have been done every 7,500 km as part of warranty requirements. This was never communicated to me at any point, nor is it standard practice for normal vehicle use. If this is due to a known issue on these vehicles, then it raises serious concerns as to why customers are not informed upfront or why it is not addressed as part of routine servicing. Due to safety concerns for myself and my family, I had no choice but to replace the front tyres at my own cost. In addition to this, I have also reported: - A prematurely worn fan belt that is now screeching - An ABS issue where the system engages unexpectedly when braking after start-up Both of these concerns have not been properly attended to. I find it unacceptable that a known issue is being deflected back onto the customer, especially when it directly impacts safety. I am requesting reimbur*****t for the two front tyres, or alternatively that Isuzu addresses the outstanding issues and provides a service credit. If this matter is not resolved, I will escalate it further through the relevant consumer protection channels. I expected better from Isuzu.

DO NOT BUY AN ISUZU!!!!!!

Whatever you do – do NOT purchase an ISUZU and definitely not from their Midrand branch. We bought a brand new ISUZU X-RIDER 1.9 (close on R700 000) and have had nothing but ongoing trouble from day 1. It’s been a complete and utter disaster and disappointment from the outset. They have provided a ‘loan vehicle’ but why should we keep having to put up with that?? The current loan vehicle is inferior to what we purchased and there is absolutely no urgency in trying to fix our vehicle which has now been back 3 times!!! Nobody cares. Plus their stance is one of arrogance and complete indifference. Tomorrow’s another day …………
