DONT ANSWER YOUR PHONE WHEN THEY CALL!!!

What a waste of money!!! Take note and pay attention to the price, when you have to Pay R310 for 200ml Shampoo and R310 for 200ml Conditioner you would think that this is going to be a product that turns your hair to silk not straw, then their wonderful salesmen works on your emotions and convinces you that you require these serums that will save you money in the long run.... Please, I have now got Dark Marks on my skin Damage to my face and when I bring this to their attention they keep referring to breakouts, they do not listen, I'm not talking about ****les and that I am over using their products, for Pete's sake, I used it how they instructed me to use it. And again at R950 30ml-R1213 25ml a serum I now look older than what did before with Dark Marks on my skin and wrinkles. Then the LUSCIOUS LIP SERUM which is supposed to plump up your lips, it is thick and sticky and it dries out you lips, R256 for 5mls, this has been the most expensive waste of money the products cause more damage than good and when reporting it you are told to buy more products and "Our Luscious Lips Plumping Lip Serum is thick in consistency, which can feel like it is sticky for some clients. It is produced this way. If you have used a lip plumping product before, it may the reason why you are feeling you do not get the full effect as your lips would be used to the product already.", I'm over it their sales people play on your emotions and hound you till you sign up, and when you do you are over charged for products you will not use. I was told "we would recommend using a hair oil along with them if you feel that it dries your hair out" Really spend more money!!!

Subject: RE: igug*** Greetings Sulaine, thank you for your response please find hereto attached my email dated 14.09.2022 Kindly take note of the content of my mail to which I have included below, I will gladly send all IG products back to you, as I have stated the product is defective and has caused damage to my skin, I am with in my rights as a consumer to report a defective product that causes harm as stated in your own terms and conditions and receive a full refund. “Good day Sulaine, Alongside the information given below I would like to draw your attention to “7. Returns and cancelation subparagraph” “After 60 days from delivery date” of the terms and conditions. “In the event that any of our products are found to be defective, please notify us as soon as you become aware of the defect, we will arrange for the product to be collected and you will not be responsible for any costs involved with respect to such a return.” I notified IG with regards to the defect, that your products have caused damage to my skin and that I feel that these products are unsafe to use, as well as them being not what was advertised by your salesman and the pricing being far more then that which would be considered in line with the product market of SA. Rights in terms of the CPA

In terms of Section 56(2) of the CPA, a consumer may return goods to a supplier, without penalty to the consumer and at the supplier’s own risk and expense, if the goods fail to satisfy the requirements and standards contemplated in Section 55.

Section 55 stipulates that goods have to be reasonably suitable for the purposes for which they are generally intended, of good quality, in good working order and free of any defects and should be useable and durable for a reasonable period of time (having regard to the use to which they would normally be put and to all the surrounding circumstances of their supply).

Should a consumer receive any goods that fail to adhere to the requirements set out in Section 55, it can be returned to the supplier within six months after the delivery of the goods. The consumer may then request that the supplier either repair or replace the failed, unsafe or defective goods or refund to the consumer the full price paid for the goods.

A consumer needs to remember that a supplier cannot force him/her to choose to have the goods repaired, if he/she prefers a refund or a replacement. A consumer can also insist on a cash refund instead of store credit or vouchers or on a replacement with something similar at no additional cost to him/her.

The supplier may also not force a consumer to purchase a more expensive model, version or brand and must, as mentioned, cover all the costs of repairing, collecting or replacing the defective goods.

What about specific return policies?

Consumers often come across specific return policies, i.e. 7 days or 14 days. However, in terms of the CPA, these policies have no basis and are not enforceable when it comes to defective or unsafe goods.

Section 56 contains what is known as an ‘imp**** warranty of quality’, which essentially provides that the supplier must, irrespective of the supplier’s policy, repair, replace or refund the full price paid for the returned goods if they are not in line with Section 55.

What if the supplier refuses to co-operate?

A consumer may only approach a court and take legal action if all the avenues of recourse listed in Section 69 of the CPA have been exhausted.”
