Account details over the phone???
A friend recommended me for the free the gift package a few months ago and now get phoned ALL THE TIME with sales calls. I was almost tempted today by a very convincing sales woman but after hearing that I must give my banking details over the phone (without ever seeing any official documentation etc) I am really not interested. I can't believe that it is legal to enter into a debit order contract without having the account holder's signature on something (according to your telemarketer, everything is confirmed telephonically). This screams alarm bells for me and is definitely not something I am interested in. Plus after reading all of these reviews about people never getting their packages, having continual orders placed without consent etc, I am DEFINITELY NOT INTERESTED. Please remove my details from your database and don't contact me again.

As discussed telephonically, the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 does not require all agreements in South Africa between consumers and suppliers to be in writing and can thus be done telephonically.
The Act does not state that aspects regarding debit orders and/or payment needs to be kept in another form as the agreement that the banking details pertaining to the agreement forms part of. In other words, if the agreement is not in writing but has been concluded telephonically, the part of the agreement that relates to payment may also be done telephonically.
We will however remove your details from our data base.
Again, we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience.
