Require assistance but not listed

The company moved on Friday and getting the Internet and e-mail up and running in time to be open on Monday is always a challenge. We managed to get connected to the Internet at about 14h00 on the Saturday but could not get connected to e-mail. Internet Solutions hosts our E-mail server. When my technical person, who has been dealing with their technical personnel extensively, phoned the call centre they said he was not listed so therefore they could not provide support.

They had an employee, who has left my company more than a year ago, still listed as a 'authorised person. I know that mytechnical person that phoned has been listed as authorised as he has performed maintenance on the server and has been in contact with IS personnel on a regular basis.

Even though the one half knows that a person is authorised, the other half does not and thus we received an absolute refusal to assist. They have no fail-safe alternative to their system not being up to date. Just a flat 'no'. While I understand that security is important, delivery and business uptime is as critical. It is comforting to know that private enterprise can also be as *********** as our government departments.

Hello DavidJBrown,

Thanks for getting in touch and letting us know about your experience with us regarding your email hosting. I will ask our Client team to investigate this. This is definitely not how we like to do business and I will ask that this be investigated and sorted out as quickly as possible.

We will use the contact details provided to make contact.

Thanks

Duncan Alfers - Digital Manager

Best regards,
