ISIGNITE: an Internet Solutions company. The absolute worst service.

I have 3 servers hosted at ISIGNITE. I phoned through to their 1st level support and requested a simple "Reverse DNS" record to be assigned to each of the servers. He could not help me, which I understand as I am fami**** with Tier Support. He gave me and email address, which I contacted. No response.

So, I logged into my account and opened up an "Emergency" ticket. I created this ticket on the 23rd. I have not even so much as received a reply to this ticket.

So, day in and day out, I log in, and add my comment:(I have redacted the IP's for security)

2016-09-23 12:51:40
Subject Reverse DNS - Both Servers
Message Hello, I contacted your support at the beginningof this week via phone. I requested both my servers IP addresses for reverse DNS provision, as i'm encountering many email returns from mail servers rejecting the emails due to this. He requested i email you. Which i did 5 minutes later. I provided all the required info in the email. (My account number etc). I still have not heard back from anyone confirm this has been done. Please. Resolve this post haste, as the fallback is on me. Regards, Andreas Rabetche +27-79- **********

2016-09-26 14:33:59
You Wrote: Its now 2:30pm on the 26th. So.. 18th of Dec 2017.. still the same servers... Recently companies that I deal with often have "tightened" their spam filtering, to reject any email that doesn't have a correct reverse DNS PTR back to the server.. for example: An IP: 197.97.231.227 must have a reverse DNS record called a rDNS PTR which basically mirrors the IP, but in reverse.. so 197.97.231.227 would look like this 227.231.97.197.in-addr.arpa. IS set it up like this: 97.197.in-addr.arpa. which translates mt IP to be 197.97.0.0/16 (255.255.0.0)... Which is literally embarrassing. I mean 197.97.0.1 - 197.97.255.254 would literally share a reverse DNS PTR of 97.197.in-addr.arpa.!?! Thais 65,536 IP's.. which is why my emails are getting returned. I have contacted them... but based on past history, this seems the best route.. I simply cannot explain the above to a tier 1 engineer. over the phone, and sadly, the ASP/ISP (ISIGNITE) are the only people who can change this, as the IP is in their pool. So, I have 4 servers.. all on the same class b subset (so it seems now), and running dig to check the them all three unique servers with their own domains etc have the same reverse DNS: So all 3 server with IP's starting 197.97.x.x translate to 97.197.in-addr.arpa. I'm sorry, but this isn't tardiness.. this is straight up under-s****ed "engineers" that don't understand IP or DNS.. Two pretty important things don't you think? Wow.. Sort this IS..

Hello IS, I know you have not responded to this, but I have looked to my rDNS records, and you have indeed done what I have requested. Resulting in the rDNS working, and mails not bouncing. So, my thanks to IS for their help. I am sorry I use this platform, but it seems the best way to escalate to a higher tier engineer. Anyway. Well done and thank you. Andreas
