POPI Act & Unauthorised mandate of Debit order IPS Health & Wellness / Platinum Life

I received a call from IPS Health and said they will be offering me 'free' gifts as part of being a Platinium Life client. Towards end of conversation it lead to me signing up for a monthly fee after testing products for 30 day. I told him I am not giving consent to sign up, yet they put me through to debit check department. They then sent me a debit order, I declined it and informed the guy I did not consent to this contract: he then told me I couldn't cancel through him - someone will have to call me. Despite declining the debit order, I see it still came through on my banking app and is waiting to go off a few days from now. They even delivered the 'free' vitamins I told them I was not interested in, and then gave me 2 weeks from delivery to the debit they *******ly placed on my account...so even if I wanted to test it out for 30 days - I wouldn't finish testing their product before it came off my account and I would be signed into a contract). They do not accept cancellation via email (despite not actually having signed up). When you call through to get through to the cancellation department to speed things up, they say you cannot call them - you have to wait for them to call you. My account details were shared by Platinum Life which ******** according to the POPI Act, and so it taking money out of ones account without authorization. I now await the call from them directly so I can cancel a contract I never signed up for. I have never in my life ever heard of a written cancellation not being acceptable. These are all just delay tactics so they can get their hands and commission off your debit orders.

Dear Samantha, I received your review.

We're going to investigate the matter from our side and provide feedback as soon as possible.

Feedback on a few mentioned points:

- Please note that nothing can deduct from your account if you've submitted a cancellation request before the debit was sent to the bank.
Your profile is currently on hold and no debits have been submitted to the bank.

- We allow our clients any debit date of the month, therefore the date of sale and upcoming debit will depend on which day was chosen by the client.
However, we still grant you your 30 day trial period, as this is only from the date of delivery.

- Our cancellations department phones the client, to not have a client wait on the line on their own cost.

We'll revert back as soon as possible.

Have a lovely evening!

We're investigated the matter and all confirmations were done correctly.
The consultant mentioned that you will receive the gift,, but also the products you will be paying for. It was also mentioned that your first debit will only be scheduled in December and the package was delivered on 2022-11-16.

Further information was sent to you via email - Please be on the look out for this.

Please do not hesitate to contact our Client Care Department should you need any further assistance.

Have a great day!
