POPI Act & Unauthorised mandate of Debit order IPS Health & Wellness / Platinum Life

A consultant from IPS called me offering free vouchers and trial batch of vitamins. She explained because they partner with Platinum Life they have my banking details which was shared by Platinum Life and asked whether I consented to my bank account being debited monthly even though I did not agree to purchase any vitamins or consent to a debit order. I informed her that I do the IV drip monthly which is sufficient for my needs. My account details were shared by Platinum Life which ******** according to the POPI Act. They continue to harass me by sending pop up messages to my phone to authorise a debit order on my account which is continuously declined. The unauthorised debit order showed up on my account. I had to personally go into my bank and the debit order was suspended. I have received more pop-up messages on my phone asking me to authorise the debit order for the amount of R261.87. After suspending the unauthorised debit order on my account, another message was sent on my phone which was declined. The unauthorised debit order reflects on my account AGAIN! I will take this matter up further and take the appropriate steps to pursue legal action against IPS and Platinum Life if the debit order gets deducted from my account which is scheduled for the 26th of every month starting 26 October 2022.
