Travel by Investec uninformed regarding Tanzania airports and yellow fever cards- lost 100USD

My husband and I booked a honeymoon holiday package to Zanzibar with Travel by Investec. The information sheet was very detailed, warning us about the risk of Malaria in the country, however no mention was made regarding us having to get yellow fever vaccinations & cards. Unfortunately when we arrived at the airport in Dar Es Salaam we were pulled aside by customs officials who took away our passports and we were forced into the doctors office and demanded to get the yellow fever vaccinations. This was a very traumatic experience for us. We explained to them that we're from South Africa and that we're flying to Zanzibar on the same day and according to our knowledge these shots are not mandatory, however they were adamant that we required yellow fever vaccinations. We had to cough up an unexpected 100 USD for these injections in order to be released with our passports. Travel by Investec did not include any information regarding these types of incidents happening in their information sheet. Even though after complaining about the above to the booking agent - Jamie Landsberg she mentioned that they were actually informed about this happening at Tanzanian airports in their training however it does not happen often so they did not include it in their information sheet. Jamie also mentioned after rechecking the policy that although yellow fever vaccinations are not mandatory, you cannot argue with an official when asked to produce your yellow fever certificate. Furthermore when checking Travelstart's website, they specify that you do require yellow fever cards when travelling to Tanzania (probably to protect their clients from these types of incidents) . This would have really been useful to know before travelling to Zanzibar, as we could have obtained the vaccinations in South Africa, with our medical aid covering it or at a much lower cost, we had to sacrifice tours in Zanzibar as a result of this unexpected cost. We expected a premium service from Travel by Investec, but apparently Travelstart is more informed and transparent with their clients. We are really upset that Travel by Investec refuses to reimburse us for this unexpected cost of 100USD (even after providing them with official receipts) we had to incur due to the lack of travel information they provided us.

I will not be using Travel by Investec for international travel again as they do not give you complete information regarding what to expect in countries you're travelling to and they refuse to reimburse you for the mistakes made on their part as a travel agency.
