Travel by Investec- Refusal to provide clients with complete Zanzibar travel information

Travel by Investec was privy to the information that although it is not mandatory for you to get a yellow fever vaccination, a customs official may still require you to provide a yellow card. If you do not have a yellow card, you may be required to get the vaccination and pay an exorbitant fee. They were informed in their training and have the knowledge that incidents like this do happen, however they believe their clients do not have the right to know this information.

Instead we were informed by Shaqeela Abrahams (Travel by Investec consultant), that it is similar to them informing their clients about the possibility of getting ****** while walking in the JHB CBD. This comparison is absolutely appalling, as it is not mandatory to walk in JHB CBD to get to your required travel destination. My wife and I were required to get through customs (which included getting injections and an unexpected 100USD) to catch our flight to Zanzibar. Furthermore these are government officials and professionals (the doctor at the airport which executed the injection) "breaking the law" which is not a natural expectation. They provided us with official Tanzanian government documentation being the receipt for the 100 USD we paid, if it were some type of a ******** act you would expect for there to be no audit trail.

As a traveler, I prefer to be over prepared, and would hope that my travel agency would share all the travel info (including any warnings about yellow cards that may be requested) they are privy to.

I am really disappointed with the service we have received. I'm further disappointed that the bank Investec is associated with an entity that provides their clients such an inferior service.
