Disappointing Experience with an Overated Bank

I recently switched from my previous bank to Investec, lured by the promise of superior and personalized service. Unfortunately, my experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. It’s clear that Investec is riding on its reputation, offering no better services than any emerging digital bank. Their outdated systems and approach have led me to decide to close my account today. My first negative encounter was when I attempted to transfer my home loan to them. Despite sending weekly emails and making numerous phone calls, it took four weeks to receive a response from my private banker. I was essentially ignored for this duration. It was only after reaching out to my banker’s superior that I received an apology and assurance that such an incident would not recur. However, a month later, when I app**** for Solar finance, the same issue arose. Two months have passed without any update on the status of my application. Despite my numerous attempts to reach out via emails and phone calls, their banker has consistently failed to provide any updates. Investec has proven to be a disappointment, failing to meet basic customer requirements. It’s hard to believe that in such a competitive banking landscape, Investec still assumes that people want to bank with them, especially when they no longer hold the competitive advantage of being a market leader with exceptional personal bankers. Their service has been a letdown, and I would not recommend them to anyone. a 1-star rating is too high for them.
