Abysmal response to cash investment request

I have emailed Investec several times over the last month or two about reopening an old investment account that was closed about six months ago. I have sent them the requested documentation but despite this I am not getting any responses to my emails; do they want me to grovel before allowing me the privilege of investing with them?
