I entered into a contract for the removal of my furniture from Centurion to Pinetown with African Furniture Removals on the 24 November and we agreed on an amount of R7000 and a storage of R700 per month. This new quotation was revised from the initial quotation of R5800. I paid the R7000 in full and my goods were picked on 26 November 2014. On 15 Dec 2014, I sent an e mail advising Hein that the furniture will be in storage until further notice. On 04 March 2015 I requested an invoice to pay the storage fee of R700 per month. I was then informed on 17 march then they had revised the quotation and I was owing them R29000.00. I have rejected this amount owed and have opened a case with SAPS and they refuse to release my furniture without this payment. Intertrans who removed the goods have indicated only today that my load was over volume. All that they had to do was not to transport the furniture if it was over volume as they assert. Peole should be very carefully when dealing with these companies as they think they have control as they have one's goods.
