Intercare Woodburn - NOT RECOMMENDED

I emailed the centre manager Colleen Naicker on Sunday 12/01/2025 as soon as I received her information, to date - I have not received a response.

I was suffering with intense pelvic and side pain. I called Intercare Woodburn on Sunday morning to make an appointment.

I specifically discussed my problem and requested to see a doctor who can perform an ultra sound to perhaps check for cysts due to me having PCOS and the region of the pain. The receptionist advised me that Dr Sitsila can perform the ultrasound and booked me for 12pm (midday).

I arrived abit earlier and waited in excruciating pain for this appointment hoping to get answers and medical care, only to see Dr Sitsila leave with her handbags just after 12.20pm.

My husband went to receptionist who advised him that Dr Armstrong will see to me now.

So once again, I wait for Dr Armstrong to complete her consult and she called me in (by my incorrect name) which is human error but it is just another reflection of the lack of professionalism. Her error which was a laughing matter to other patients was somewhat humiliating but also shows the lack of professionalism. I am do not care about titles BUT I have never been to a medical facility where patients are called by their first name. Especially when Doctors cannot pronounce our names and repeatedly scream out the incorrect ones.

Nevertheless, Dr Armstrong was extremely polite and apologised,she also advised me that she does NOT perform ultrasounds it is infact Dr Sitsila who is the only one and has already left for the day.

Bear in mind that a patient and his daughter came in AFTER me without an appointment requesting to see Dr Sitsila and this was granted. Did this patient take up her time until she was officially off duty so therefore, I was pushed to another doctor without considering the scan? Another case of lack of professionalism as patients should be attended to according to their appointments. This was not the case.

So, I was forced to visit the hospital because I now had no other choice and thankfully I did, because I had a serious health scare.

All of this was sent to Colleen who either ignored it or client care is not a priority at all at Intercare Woodburn.

Sad but I do not recommend this facility to anyone.
