Intercare outstanding balance communication

Intercare does not effort at all to inform a patient that his/her medical aid did not pay their account. When you enter at reception, they will check if you have anything outstanding and when you exit, they check if the medical aid has paid the account. They inform you at both these interactions that your account is up to date and no payment is required from you. There is then no communication at all after this. Then 6 months later you receive an sms from attorneys saying that you have been marked as a “bad payer” as you owe someone an amount. They do not mentioned anything with regards to what it relates to. When you phone the attorneys they say that they have on record all the communication that was sent during that 6 months, but none of that communication was ever received. This is not the first case that I have heard off where an Intercere patient only became aware of the outstanding balance when they were being threatened by Intercare’s attorneys.
