Intercare or I don't care

We had to drive from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town to have an x-ray taken for a UK visa. We were the first booking of the morning and had the x-ray done. The staff at reception told us we could pick up the results in 45 minutes. So we went off and had breakfast. On arriving back we inquired how far they were, only to eventually be told that they had lost the key to one of the rooms and they were waiting for a locksmith. The locksmith arrived while we were being told and unlocked the door within 5 minutes. After a hour or so we had no updates, we struck up a conversation with 2 other people who were also waiting only to discover they had arrived just after us and had not even been xrayed yet. Even though other people were coming and going..... So what is the point of an appointment? I enquired again about our results reminding the receptionist that we had a 6 to 8 hour trip ahead if us, they showed no interest, she eventually went to see the doctor, but he/she was on the phone. After another 10 minutes I asked her to see if the phone call was maybe now finished, this she did and someone else came to tell me that the Internet was down. It is now 11:46 and I am still waiting....
