Intercare Hazseldean Step-Down can do better
I attended the step-down facility at Intercare Hazeldean, after a hip replacement operation. The following problems were a cause for concern. • Meals were pre-prepared by an outsourced facility and although not bad at all, never adequate. I was constantly hungry. • My bed was not cleaned for 3 days at one stage. • The noise created by the night staff gathered at the nursing station was very loud, and made sleep almost impossible at times. • I handed in my chronic medication during admission. These were never administered correctly. Every time I enquired the answer was the same. “We will look into it”, or “I will ask the sister”. Nothing happened and the second day I decided not to pursue it as I was wasting my time.
