Intercare Dental Parklands

I contacted the service provider to attend to a perceived tooth filling need on the 29.07.2024. I called and made an appointment and then later visited their premises. I entered and was met with the receptionist who asked if I am with medical aid or not, I reported that I am and provided my medical aid details. I was given an invoice below which stated that I am liable for an amount as the medical aid didn't pay the full amount. I agreed and immediately paid the shortfall as per their invoice given to me in person.

Around a month later, I recieved comms that stated I now owe an amount of R859.

I was very surprised and responded to them to advise that I am not aware of any outstanding money as I paid my portion on the day. They then sent me comms later to confirm the amount I owed nor addressing the fact that they invoiced me on the day for the R452.10 that I need to pay for the procedure and that they even stated in the invoice a column with what the medical aid paid or pays and what I must pay.

I am not certain to this fact but how was it that they could provide me with an amount to pay and what the medical aid would pay, only to come back to me a month later saying I owe them money.

I would not have utilised their services were I told upfront what I should pay as I was not on a position to make an informed decision due to the fact that had I known they would charge me more than what they invoiced me for I would not have used them. I was reasonably under the impression that I had to pay a certain amount and the medical aid paying the other, as the invoice is showing me that. They did not disclose that the medical aid didn't pay or may only pay a portion or reject Andy portion stated in the invoice.

I was prejudiced by this service provider As I was not put in a position to make a fully informed decision. They evidently provided me with a invoice stating no clarification that I am to pay additional amounts other than stated and it came a a huge surprise that a month later I was to pay more funds.

I have not seen a case where an invoice is provided for a service paid in full and then not being told or advised of any other shortfall to be paid.
