**************!!!

Last week Friday I phoned Intercare in Tygervalley to enquire about our medical assessment that we had done the previous day. An Afrikaans speaking woman answered the phone and was extremely unhelpful and rude. I asked kindly to speak to one of the ladies that had helped me the day before and she wanted to know why. I also asked to speak to the doctor that had seen to us and she said she was busy and would send her an email to get back to me whenever she was free. I received no phone call. I wanted to thank this woman by name for helping me and she told me her name was anonymous and persistently asked what my name was and my contact number. The phone call was for retreaving critical information for our New Zealand visa application. If I did not receive this information our visa application could have been failed costing us thousands of rands. I asked my Afrikaans speaking husband to phone on my behalf a little while later and he was helped instantly retreaving the information that we needed. I am an English speaking woman. I can't help the fact that I wasn't brought up speaking Afrikaans. I don't appreciate being discriminated against for the language I speak. I am very unhappy.
