Rejected building cover claim

Our house has a crack on the side wall. we lodged a claim with Indwe and an assessor evaluated the house and asked an engineer to give a report. The engineer discovered that the extension that was added to the main house in 1989 was not correct. This resulted in Indwe rejecting the claim.
My questions are:
1. Who digs the ground and looks at foundations when buying a house
2. All Plans were approved by municipality and foundations was also approved
3. Indwe agreed to insure the property as is, now when there is a problem then they reject.
4. The Assessor even said that the claim will be paid and asked the engineer to submit a separate quote to oversee the remedial work.

TO ALL THOSE WHO HAVE BUILDING COVER WITH INDWE RISK AND UNDERWRITTEN BY SANTAM
PLEASE TAKE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS AS THIS MAY HAPPEN TO YOU

THEY TAKE THEIR PREMIUMS EVERY MONTH WITHOUT FAIL BUT WILL REJECT AS AND WHEN THEY FEEL.
