Insurence
About 3 weeks ago I discovered a leak in my main Bathroom. I called my insurance, the sent through a damage assessor, who informed me my insurance would not fix the problem due to Parklands( the area in which I live in Cape Town) being notorious for such incidents in the houses. She continued on to say that the insurance has decided to not do these kind of jobs as it is costing them much. I was advised by the assessor to look for my own plumber and fix the leak, and the insurance would pay for the damages of facilities before the fixing of the pipes. <br> Now this placed me in a predicament as I pay insurance so that I don't have to deal with such incidences especially when an incident happens mid-month when I don't have money. I informed the assessor about a colleague of mine who had a similar incident last year and the same insurance paid for the pipe repairs including the damages impacted during the repairs and also the damage from the leaks. <br> After having fixed the pipes from my own pocket using my own plumber, I called the assessor to inform her. She then told me the insurance would only pay out a Total amount R8434.76 less the excess of R500 = R7934.76 vat included (carpets ar
