Claim Not Resolved Since 29 Feb 2016 - CL***

Absolutely Terrible Experience with Indwe Risk on this particular occasion. Storm damaged property roof and boundary wall: 1) Claim Put Through on 29/02/2016 and 08/03/2016. 2) Assessor Appointed and comes through to view property (10 Days later - No Feedback - When I follow up the claims consultant advises that I need to wait for the Manager to come back from leave. 3) 18-23rd March I was advised that they are waiting for the assessor - I contacted the assessor myself and he advises that everything is done and put through from his side. 4) By this time 2 storms occurred waterlogging our beds and floors. 5) By this time countless calls have been made - 7th April Manager sends an email apologising for delay and request that I complete another claim form for 2nd lot of damages - WHY - COMPLETE IT AND WAIT ANOTHER FEW MONTHS!!!! 6) Apparently Assessor could not tell whether the boundary wall was damaged due to storm or not - An engineer was appointed who then came and assessed and admitted to us that it is clear it is storm damage. Engineer sings one tune with us but sends in another report to Indwe saying we need to put Jojo Tanks to store water yet we showed him our water is diverted to storm water drain and he agreed - HOW MANY PEOPLE OUT THERE HAVE JOJO TANKS TO STORE THERE WATER ? IT IS CLEAR THAT INDWE IS LOOKING FOR EVERY LOOPHOLE NOT TO PAY. Nevertheless they agreed in writing that insurers will include the cost to repair the wall but cover will be dropped going forward. 7) The Manager then revert and advises we are underinsured and advises that our their calculation is based on R10 000 per sqr meter - BARE IN MIND THIS IS NOT A CASTLE WE ARE LIVING IN - IT IS A BASIC HOUSE WITH BASIC ELEC AND PLUMBING. When I asked how the assessor comes to this figure as he did not even walk into our house, did not measure anything, did not check to see if we have any finish's BIC's or anything of that sort - Their reply was it is apparently based on a book which they have access too - MORE ********!!! 8) I spoke to 3 builders, an architect and an engineer and they say the rate of R10 000 per sqr meter is ridiculous - I have obtained quotes in writing and given Indwe the contact details of the relevant persons I spoke to - No feedback since. 9) I then complained to Indwe customer Care - The lady says she will look into and revert but as usual no feedback from there as well. 10) Claims manager goes on leave again and still no feedback. I was asked to liaise with another colleague while he is away but she was on leave as well and no one else could assist. Today 3rd May 2016 - more than 3 months later im still waiting for settlement on the claim.
